 THE YOUNG GUNS STEP UP FOR THE ACTION SPORTS GAMES

Action Sports Games will see a changing of the guard with young guns like Sam Brown (Thirlmere, NSW), Luca Kidd (UK) and Elliot Digney (Sydney, Aus) take on current world ranked number two Nic Rapa (Hawkesbury, NSW) and (ranked 6th) Shota Tezuka (Shizuoka, Japan).
 
It will be spectacular showdown, as 16-year-old Sam Brown, who has already amassed six world junior titles and is being billed as the next big thing in the wakeboard world takes on the experience and seasoned competitors like Rapa and Tezuka. “I am so stoked to be turning pro this year and can’t wait to ride alongside the likes of Nic Rapa and Shota Tezuka, I’ve always looked up to those guys” said Brown.
 
Tipping the odds in Rapa’s favour is his knowledge of how to handle the tough conditions Western Australia can provide. Rapa is excited to be heading back to Bunbury sating, “I am so amped to be heading back to Bunbury for the Action Sports Games and take on those young guys, I can’t wait!”
 
Tezuka will make his wake debut in Bunbury in 2019 and is keen to test his skills on the beautiful waters of Koombana Bay.
 
Parker Seigle (Barossa Valley, SA) and local lads Callan Starr (Ascot, WA) and Josh Quartermaine (Cottesloe, WA) will headline the Australian’s competing on home soil. 
 
“I am thrilled to see that wakeboarding’s young guns are heading to Bunbury to challenge some of the sports seasoned professionals,” said event director Tim Thirsk. “It is going to be a super exciting event and I can’t wait to see it all play out.”
 
Not to be outdone by the high-flying wakeboard athletes, Bunbury will also see some of WA’s best freestyle motocross riders taking to the skies at theSummer Food Truck Festival to be held at Bicentennial Square.
 
The likes of Russ Lightfoot and Ash Rogers pulling out a bunch of adrenaline packed tricks, with the crowd in for a real treat.
 
Rounding the weekend out will be the Skateboard, BMX and Scooter competition held at Bunbury’s city centre skate park.
 
Starting at 9.00am and going through till 4.00pm, spectators will see some of WA’s best skaters, BMXers and Scooter riders going all out on the concrete and competing for over $5000 in cash and prizes thanks to Colony BMX, Root Industries and Modus Bearings.
