CBS SPORTS NETWORK DEBUTS 2011 COLLEGE WAKEBOARDING NATIONALS

Programming Kicks Off on Saturday, June 25 with CBS Sports Spectacular

The College Wakeboarding Championships will be featured on national television on CBS and CBS Sports Network this weekend as part of coverage of The Alt Games: College Action Sports Championships.

Highlights from the College Wakeboarding Championships will be part of a special one-hour show airing on CBS on Saturday, June 25 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET). Following the CBS Sports Show, wakeboarding action continues on CBS Sports Network on Saturday, June 25 (3:00-5:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, June 26 (3:00-4:00 PM, ET and 5:00-6:00 PM, ET).

Coverage of the College Wakeboarding Nationals, which took place in San Diego, Calif. on May 15, is part of CBS Sports Network’s sixth annual College Action Sports Championships. Universities from across the United States including Florida, Tennessee and Chico State faced off for the co-ed team championship, while a women’s wakeboarding champion was crowned for the first time. The CBS Sports show features the most compelling action from the 2011 Alt Games, highlighting top performances from 20 college championships across numerous sports including skateboarding, wakeboarding, flowboarding, beach volleyball, ultimate and surfing. Jonny Moseley, the 1998 Winter Olympic gold medalist in freestyle skiing, and Todd Harris host the Championship event coverage for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network.

More than 1,300 competitors from over 100 colleges and universities nationwide competed at the 2011 Alt Games, which crowns 20 national men’s and women’s champions in both individual and team events. The competitions were held in Copper Mountain, Colo. (April 16), San Diego, Calif. (May 13-15), Boulder, Colo. (May 29-30) and Dana Point, Calif. (June 18).
