The Scion Open Snowboard Triple crown featured a couple of unusual things.  First, the event featured a two-story rail set-up with 6 truck loads of snow all placed in the middle of Kansas City”s upscale Power and Light bar district.  Second, it was 70 degrees on February 4th, when it should have been 7.  And third, one of the pro snowboarders was none other than Liquid Force pro wakeboarder, Mike Ennen.

Ennen joined a group of 15 other pro riders that matched-up with some of the region’s best local riders in a Pro / Am format. The huge crowd cheered Ennen as he hit the rails with the same style he displays on the water. Mike Olson, owner of KC Watersports, coordinated with Liquid Force to bring Ennen in for the event.  “We have a large contingency of snowboarders in the Midwest. Our goal was to show how well you can cross-over from wake to snow, and vice-versa.  Ennen is an awesome rider and a quality person.  We were thrilled to have him here for this event”.

The Power and Light event was the conclusion of Scion’s triple crown of Snowboarding.  Look for the upcoming Scion Open wakeboarding tournament this summer at KC Watersports.  A special thanks to event sponsors: Scion, Verizon, KC Watersports, Liquid Force, SOKA, Fresh Tip Design and all of the others that made this event possible.
