Harley Clifford and Julian Cohen Ride, Capture and Share in Style with Polaroid Action Cameras

Ridgefield Park, N.J. – January 6, 2014 – Polaroid is pleased to announce the addition of world champion wakeboarders Harley Clifford and Julian Cohen to the Polaroid Action team. Clifford and Cohen will help promote the Polaroid line of mountable hi-definition sports action cameras including the XS80, XS100 and the XS100i.

“We are thrilled to be adding these two highly accomplished and exciting athletes to our Polaroid Action team,” said Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO of Polaroid. “Because of incredible talents like Harley Clifford and Julian Cohen, we are able to showcase just how clearly our action cameras capture even the most exhilarating moments. It has been our goal at Polaroid to bring images to life, and by joining forces with our team of action sports athletes, we are able to deliver.”

Three-Time World Champion

At only 19 years old, Australian Harley Clifford is a veteran of MTV’s Wake Brothers reality series and already has been crowned “King of Wakeboarding” twice. An extremely talented athlete, Harley hit the scene early — dominating contests while barely into his teens. Now, at the ripe old age of 19, he’s counted among the sport’s elite and taking top honors on a consistent basis. Harley is a three-time world champion, two-time world cup champion, five-time Australian national champion and three-time U.S. National Champion – so far.

Since starting his professional career in 2009 and winning the Pro Tour in his rookie season, Harley has won every award and accolade there is to win in the sport of wakeboarding. He now chases an “endless summer” where he spends six months in Australia and six months in America utilizing the wakeboard-ready weather. In a short time, Harley has taken the action-sports world by storm and has no plans of stopping anytime soon.

“I am thrilled to be included on the Polaroid Action team,” said Clifford. “I rely heavily on photo and film to help perfect my motions and Polaroid action cameras capture even my wildest of tricks. I am honored to be part of this prestigious team.”

Worldwide Favorite

Known for his friendly, jovial demeanor as well as his killer wakeboarding skills, Julian Cohen is an entertainer both on and off the water. By the time he was 14, he became the first and youngest wakeboarder to land a 1080 in a cable competition. Since then, he’s climbed the rankings and become a crowd favorite wherever he competes. His achievements include placing at the 2011 World Cable Championships, the 2011 USA Boat Nationals and gaining first on the 2011 USA wakeboard listing. He recently was ranked 4th at the 2013 Wake Park World Championships Pro Features.

“I can always be seen with a camera in hand,” Cohen commented. “So after trying the new Polaroid sports action cameras and seeing how fun and easy they are to use, I knew I wanted to be part of this extraordinary team.”
