Michigan State Wakeboarding Club hosts their third annual Spartan Throwdown for Midwest collegiate wakeboarders

EAST LANSING, Michigan. – Michigan State Wakeboarding Club’s competition featuring college teams from all over the Midwest and South on Saturday, May 13 at Lake Lansing Park South.

Andrew Brown, MSU Wakeboarding Club President, said. “Our team has worked very hard for the creation of this event and I am proud of how well it has come together! We are going to have games and events set up throughout the park including volleyball, a live DJ, and a BBQ!”

Brown was elected President of the club in October for the spring semester and immediately created a committee to focus on the planning of the Throwdown because it is our most important fundraiser for our team. It is expected to attract fans from all over the Lansing area as well as over 50 wakeboarders looking to compete for the top spot.

Joshua Edwards, MSU Wakeboarding Club Vice President, said. “The goal of our club has always been to create a presence of college wakeboarding in the Midwest and with the Spartan Throwdown we are able to get riders from other schools to come and inspire them to start their own teams.”

Teams coming to the Throwdown include: ASU, IU, OSU, WMU, GVSU, Miami of Ohio, Wisconsin, Ball State, Central Washington, Tennessee, and Purdue. This will be Grand Valley State University’s first competition as a team and we are very excited to help them build a program.
