2014 WWA Wake Park World Series Final Rankings Announced with Two New Faces

From Lake Alfred, FL (December 17, 2015) — The 2014 WWA Wake Park World Series (WPWS) officially ended this past weekend at one of the most fun and progressive cable parks on the globe; Thai Wake Park (TWP) in Bangkok, Thailand. With tons of advanced new features in the lake, top Wakeboarders from all over the world tightened up their boots and hit the water for what would be a groundbreaking finish to a historical WPWS season.

With “home-park” advantage, Daniel Grant (THAI) would be a locked-in favorite to win at least one of the three professional divisions competing in; however, no one would have guessed he would repeat last years TWP stop of the WPWS and sweep all three divisions. It was truly a sight to be seen as he manipulated the park in its entirety. Grant’s finish in the Pro Men’s division would secure his first ever Pro Men’s WPWS Overall Title, joining only Tom Fooshee (USA) and Dominik Guerhs (GER) as the third person to ever with this coveted title in it’s eight year history.

2014 WPWS – Pro Men’s Ranking

Daniel Grant (THAI) — 460
Tom Fooshee (USA) — 445
Chandler Powell (USA) — 395

However, it was a different story in the Pro Features division. Even with the win in the Pro Features division, Grant would be too far out of reach for the Pro Features WPWS Overall Title, as Aaron Gunn (AUS) has absolutely put on a rail and kicker clinic during the 2014 season. Gunn has finished on the podium at all five stops and won three of those stops, accumulating plenty of points throughout the season to make this title basically impossible to reach for any other rider. Gunn’s extremely technical rail riding and massive 75′ kicker tricks has helped elevate him to a level that is rarely matched both in freeriding and contest riding. Gunn joins Grant as the second rider in two years of recording the WWA WPWS – Pro Features Overall Rankings.

Aaron Gunn (AUS) — 470
James Windsor (AUS) — 385
Tom Fooshee (USA) — 380

Setting a new standard of legitimacy, technicality and uniqueness at wake parks around the globe; Aaron Gunn (AUS) takes the 2014 WWA Wake Park World Series – Pro Features Overall Title.

All-in-all, the level of riding during the 2014 WWA Wake Park World Series has been mind- boggling . Progression of not only technical tricks, but also rewind based rail and kicker tricks have set a new precedent in cable wakeboarding.
