How can you not tell the story of the premier of Innuendo without using one in the title? The Alliance Visual Experiences (AVE) team debuted their new movie Thursday night at La Paloma Theatre in downtown Encinitas and it was a hit. Approximately 350 people stood in line to watch the video featuring the cross-country travels of Ben Greenwood, Collin Wright, Aaron Reed, George Daniels and Danny Harf. Much of the crowd was made up of the Liquid Force entourage, as the company’s sales meeting was taking place in Encinitas at the same time, and those guys were ready to see some wakeboarding and wakeskating.

Things got started with a bang when a never-before-seen teaser of The Truth was played prior to the start of the video. If the crowd’s reaction was any indication, The Truth is going to be a must-have in everybody’s wakeboarding video collection. Soon after, Innuendo started playing and the premier was underway. In case you haven’t been reading the past few issues of Alliance or checking out this website, Innuendo was filmed during a three week road trip from Orlando to San Diego. All of the footage was compiled during this trip, and the video tells the story of that adventure. The loud cheers that went up regularly throughout the film was an obvious sign that the mix of good riding, different locations and unique editing was striking a cord with the viewers.

After the video was over it was schwag giveaway time. A raffle was held and backpacks full of goodies from Quiksilver, Billabong, DVS, O’gio, O’Neill, Anarchy, Liquid Force, and Hyperlite were given away to the lucky crowd members with the right tickets. The biggest prize of the night, though, was a brand new surfboard donated by local shop Surf Ride. Despite being a local surf shop in the are since 1974, Surf Ride doesn’t just do surfing, they are also a major wake and skate dealer.

After the gear was given out, everybody headed next door for an after party at the D Street Bar. Innuendo continued to be shown on TV screens throughout the bar as everybody bro’ed down, drank beverages and enjoyed the evening’s festivities. For Charles and Keith it was a perfect way to end a very long journey filled with U-turns, all-nighters, Red Bull binges, and all kinds of techie mumbo-jumbo.

All-in-all it was a huge success, but of course it couldn’t have been possible without the help of La Paloma Theatre and the D Street Bar. A big thanks also goes out to all the companies who donated schwag for the raffle, especially to Surf Ride for the surfboard – be sure to check out www.surfride.com for either surf or wakeboard needs. Innuendo will be available for purchase by the third week of August, stay tuned to alliancewake.com for more info on when and where you will be able to get it.
