We all love boards, like they are friends. But sometimes friends turn on you. Scott Byerly’s board turned on him over the weekend and he ended up dislocating his entire right knee. As if that weren’t painful enough, he put it back into socket himself. “My foot was up by my head, but for some reason I knew I had to put it back into socket,” Byerly said. “I just had this feeling it wasn’t broken, so I kept pushing it down. There were like four pops when I did it, I think the first one was my hip, and then the rest were all my knee.” The initial X-rays showed no broken bones, but Byerly is awaiting results of an MRI to see what the summer has in store for him. As for now, his spirits are high and he expects to be back on the water within a few months.
