Orlando, Fla. – 12 of the best wakeboarders in the world charged meaty double-ups all day long in Orlando, Florida today as the third annual Parks Bonifay Double Or Nothing double-up contest set fire to historic Lake Ivanhoe.

Red Bull’s flowed like water and MasterCraft X-Star’s served up the deal, with over $10,000 in cash and prizes on the line for the coveted titles of “Biggest Air” and “Best Trick.”

Rider’s rode stylish and looked tight in their Fox Riders Co. custom numbered jerseys, and new for this year was the return of Randall Harris and the debut of Shaun Murray. Harris went huge and rarely fell in his 15-minute time slot, posting a big wrapped heelside mute 720 way into the flats. Murray was also explosive and sailed an Air Raley into a sure contender for “Biggest Air.”

Anticipation was in the air as last year’s “Best Trick” champion, Danny Harf took to the water, fresh off of landing a switch heelside 1080 this week — the second documented 1080 in wakeboarding’s history. And today’s host, Mr. Parks Bonifay was on hand supporting his boy, to see if Harf could land it again (Bonifay is the only other wakeboarder to land a documented 1080 of the toeside variation in 1999). While Harf rotated several 1080’s straight back to a solid landing, he just popped the handle, but almost rode away from a couple. However, the crowd of media, sponsors and fellow riders witnessed some amazing attempts.

Parks was excited about this year’s event and is proud of the riders who laid it on the line today. “The lake was perfect, downtown Orlando was our backdrop and conditions were really good. In the past two years of this contest, I’ve never seen riders huck-down and really put it down like they did today. For example, Andrew Adkison’s nose mobe 720 was really close. I think this contest brings out the best in the riders and pushes them to see what can be done. It’s really cool to see them risk it all for the pride that comes along with ‘Biggest Air’ and ‘Best Trick.’

Also considered for “Biggest Air” will be Rusty Malinoski’s huge glide, Harris’ stalefish front flips and Chad Sharpe’s indy glide.

“Best Trick” will probably come down to Harf’s Cab 900, Adkison’s nose mobe 540, Brett Eisenhauer’s heelside backside corked 720, Harris’ wrapped mute 720, Erik Ruck’s mute crow mobe 540, Daniel Watkins’ double back roll and Malinoski’s Cab 900.

Video will be analyzed and riders will vote in time for the Red Bull Awards Party in conjunction with the release of the 2007 Ronix wakeboards designed by Parks, Harf and Sharpe. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the Orlando Watersports Complex. DJ Irie from the Miami Heat will keep the party grooving.

Parks would like to thank Red Bull, Fox Riders Co. , Ronix and MasterCraft for making this event a huge success.
