Year after year the Salt Lake boat show proves to be the biggest and best show of the winter season. I’m always blown away at the amount of Utah residents who come out to the show, buy a boat, board, and wakekite when it’s snowing outside of the convention center. I love the attitude in Utah. People are stoked on wakeboarding times ten to the 29th power and then some more. All the big pro’s make sure that if they only get to do one boat show a year it’s the Salt Lake show. Pat Panakos, Brandon McKlean and Kris Salteski of A-Box productions built a bigger and better rail every year and this year was no different. The box with a transfer option to a higher hand rail was a Blast. With 5 + showtimes per day all the top pro’s had a chance to get their skills dialed, but if I had to give the award to just one rider I would have to say that Kris Salteski was the rail master of the weekend. Other top rail riders included Keith Lyman, Nick Ennen, JD Webb, Ross Gardner and several local shreddogs. Celebrity appearances at the show included the one and only Parks Bonifay and Company Wake’s Randall Harris.

Apart from the boat show there are some pretty rad entertainment opportunities for the pro riders when visiting the Salt Lake area. A bunch of the guys went snowmobiling plus Ross and JD had the chance to hit up the Ogio factory skatepark where they both learned backflips into the foam pit on BMX bikes. Then Sunday night There was the Nitro Circus premier downtown where the boys got to spend some time hanging with Travis Pastrana and the crew from their new MTV series. JD is a lucky guy…I have a feeling the next time I run into him he’ll be complaining about how sore he is because he got to participate in a slam dunk contest against Lebron James, Dwight Howard and Michael Jordan who will come out of retirement just for the occasion. Red Bull makes dreams come true…

Big thanks to A Box productions and Adam Martinson for the rail and photo's!!!
