Working for a magazine has it's advantages, the obvious ones being hanging out on boats with friends all the time and getting to travel. But one thing I really enjoy about working for a magazine is some of the "insider" information I now get. For example, the other day I was at the Wakeboard Camp to shoot some photos when Kyle Schmidt showed up and asked me if I'd like to take a look at his new Humanoid shred stick. Of course I said yes, and let me tell you, it definitely looks like those guys know what they're doing. Kyle might also be the smartest guy in wakeboarding, which leads me to believe he's either the smartest, but not smart enough to get out, or he's smarter than all of us and just loves it so much that he sticks around… Either way, his new board is bomb.com/smart
