Stu Shinn is a cool kid. 2008 was a great year for him. We had a chance to catch up with him and hear about a few of his better moments. Here's what he had to say.

ALLIANCE – Stu, how's it going man?

STU – What up?

A – Just sitting here wondering what's really going on with Stu Shinn. How was the fine year of 2008?

S – 2008 was everything I could ask for. I did everything I set out to do and I'm very pleased with the overall turnout of 2008!

A – You had some great moments right? Contest placing, trips, girls???

S – Haha, girls for sure. Getting first at Wakestock, winning trick of the year, getting first at nationals, and second in the boat part of the final stop of the Byerly Toe Jam were all great moments for me.

A – How was winning trick of the year?

S – It was so surreal. It was weird because when I landed the trick I wasnt even trying it. I was trying just regular back bigs and kept over rotating them so I figured I would try a 360 big spin and ended up hitting it like the 4th try.

A – You had another big trick that went down on the coming up trip right?

S – Ya, I did a toe side back side big spin. It was really cool because I tried it a couple times and got kinda close. When I was about to get in the boat and everyone was like land it! It got me super pumped to land it so I just kept trying till I landed it.

A – Sounds like a pretty productive year you put together. Anything special for 2009?

S – I'm just going to try and push wakeskating more and more and do new things and push my self.

A – If you could be any animal, what would it be?

S – Native American yeti sasquatch.

A
– Very rare, but maybe in the next life huh? Well Stu, sounds like you're going to keep feeding the fire and we can't wait to see what you bring to the table this new year. Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us.

S – Ok sounds good! See ya soon.
