The University of Louisiana at Lafayette wakeboard club will be
hosting its second annual open tournament on the weekend of June 2nd and
3rd.  Due to last year's enormous amount of riders and spectators, the event has been extended to a two day competition.  The preliminary round will take place Saturday, starting with the beginner heat at 10:00 a.m.  The intermediate heat will start at 11:00, followed by the wakeskate division at noon. At 2:00, the advanced riders will close out the day of competition.  The top 5 qualifiers from each category will advance to the main event, which will begin Sunday morning at 10:00.  Awards will be given to the top 3 riders in each bracket. The tournament will be held at a premium spot in the heart of Lafayette. From the East side of I-49, travel down I-10 until the Ambassador Caffery exit. Exit on Ambassador and head South until Willow Street. Take a right on Willow and continue down until the road comes to a T. Take a right and the lake is over the interstate on the right.  Beverages and burgers will be provided under the main tent, along with energy drinks provided by RedBull. Other sponsors include Rukus Board Sports, Bennetts Boat and Ski, LouisianaWakeboarding.com, and Rimedies Rim Repair. Come out and enjoy a fun filled weekend. All money raised will go towards helping the UL Wakeboarding Club compete at nationals in Orlando.
