Malibu had us out to Freedom Wake Park in Orlando just as Surf Expo was kicking off. The reason for this excursion from the showroom floor was to show off in person two of their new boats. For 2017 Malibu has completely redesigned the MXZ line and we got to check out the 24-footer. Not only is she big, but she’s strong, and beautiful. Like those female bodybuilder competitions, only better looking. And trust us when we say the wake is large. And the wave? Insane.

The other exciting introduction is really more of a re-introduction. Malibu brought back an all-new VLX line based off the original that was so popular in years past. The 2017 VLX is trimmed down, but still with those signature Malibu touches, including the touchscreen dash and SurfGate. The wake is just as good as the VLX models of old, and then some. It’s clean and with more than enough size for 90% of the wakeboarding population.

Massi Piffaretti and Brian Grubb played host during this demo, and both riders rode behind both boats, which was fun to watch. Stay tuned for more info on these new boats.
