The University of Louisiana at Lafayette wakeboard club recently wrapped up its second annual open tournament on the weekend of June 2nd and 3rd. The two-day event hosted 35 riders and over a hundred spectators who came out in 90 degree weather to show their support. The competition stepped up a notch this year with the addition of a kicker best trick contest to the mix. The level of riding was also being pushed as new tricks and new winners were being thrown down. Video footage of riders in the advanced category will be available soon. The club’s next tournament will be held later this year in October. Results of the tournament are as follows:

Beginner Division

1st place: Danny Curalt

2nd place: Jim Branton

3rd place: Jeremy Hohle (University of Lousiana)

Intermediate Division

1st place: Kevin "Latch" Latiolais

2nd place: Phillip Smith (University of Louisiana) 3rd place: Lyge Bienvenu

Advanced Division:
