Most of us have seen the Heartagram, made famous by Jackass’ Bam Margera, but what most don’t know is that it originated from Finland’s Ville Valo and his dark-sided rock band HIM. After HIM’s 2005 U.S. debut, Top 20 Dark Light exploded on the rock scene, their 2007 album Venus Doom, which debuted at No. 12 on the U.S. charts, brought the group worldwide recognition unsurpassed by many before them. Now almost three years later HIM’s seventh studio album Screamworks: Love in Theory & Practice, has once again taken the group to new heights. This rock-goth album is not one to be missed. Standout tracks include “Heartkiller”, “In the Arms of Rain”, “Acoustic Funeral (For Love in Limbo)” and my favorite “The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness.”
