Tigé Celebrates 20th Anniversary, Presents CEO With Platinum Edition RZ2

Abilene, TX — Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Tigé Boats, employees and suppliers today presented the company’s CEO Charlie Pigeon with a one–of–a–kind Platinum Edition Tigé.

The Tigé RZ2 was specially designed and built for Pigeon in appreciation for his 20 years of enterprising dedication to Tigé employees and dealers plus his more than three decades of progressive involvement and support of the inboard industry. Tigé employees donated the labor to build the commemorative boat and suppliers donated all of the parts. The unique RZ2 features a custom gel coat design, graphics, tower and other unique accessories. The special boat was presented to Pigeon during the quarterly Tigé Quality Standards luncheon at Tigé headquarters in Abilene. And the following Tigé employees were awarded Most Valuable Players of TeamTigé for the first quarter of 2010. Rosa Arispe de Cantu, David Gonzalez, Barbara LaFave, Jose Luis Martinez, Mario Montelongo, Val Ramirez, Ron Rifenburgh, and John Vasquez.

Pigeon started Tigé in 1990 in California. The company’s first model, the Tigé 2000slm, gained instant recognition among slalom enthusiasts, and was named WaterSki Magazine’s Rookie of the Year in 1991. The company grew rapidly and, in 1994, moved its manufacturing base to Abilene, Texas. In 2006, Tigé dramatically expanded its manufacturing capabilities when it opened its current state–of–the–art factory headquarters in Abilene.

Tigé’s 20–year history is filled with innovations and advancements that have helped lead the industry in expanding inboard design, multi-sport versatility and product quality. Among other breakthroughs, the company’s patented ConvexV hull and TAPS2 technology allowed Tigé to become the world’s first trimmable inboard. More recently, the company developed TigéTouch, the world’s first fully functional touch–screen control system to be used in an inboard watersport boat.

“I’m truly grateful to all of the people who through the years have helped make Tigé such an enduring success,” Pigeon said. “Our employees, dealers, suppliers and customers all share significantly in our continued success and I’m both proud and humbled to be associated with such an awesome group.”
