Red Bull’s National Wake Event

If I have learned one thing over my years of photographing events, it is that when Red Bull puts on an event, they go all out. National Wake was no different. Held at National Harbor on the banks of the Potomac River in DC, team riders Parks Bonifay, JD Webb, Adam Errington, and Brian Grubb put on a show for more than one thousand spectators that lined the shore and dock. With a flat bar, incline rail, and a kicker for the riders to hit, the spectators were treated to quite a show. The favorite feature had to be the kicker bringing the loudest cheers every time a rider launched themselves off the jump.

In addition to the pros, there was some local talent in attendance as well. The winners from the Outlaw and Wakeskate divisions at Bay Watersports and Stultz Clothing’s Wakefest 2010 held on Lake Anna,VA that same morning were invited to join the Red Bull team riders for the demo. Taylor Ewing, Gordon Harrison, Kyle Barmoy and Matt Hayden were more than happy to accept the invitation. An autograph session along with some giveaways, after party, and mechanical bull riding at the Cadillac Ranch finished off what had already been an amazing day!
